The Climb Description: "It's suburban Baltimore. In this town, a man is not a man unless he is a WWII or Korean War Veteran. Twelve-year-old Danny Himes (Gregory Smith), an agile, athletic boy, dreams of climbing a 203-foot radio tower - in part, to live down the reputation of his father being a coward. Earl Himes (David Strathairn) did not serve in the military. It takes Old Man Langer (John Hurt), a tough, witty, chain-smoking, whiskey-drinking character who has come home to Baltimore to die, to help Danny learn the true meaning of courage. As Danny's father earns the respect and vindication of the community, the young boy and the old man develop a bond that helps each of them through important passages in a man's life, those of bravery, friendships and death."
