Discovering Alaska Description: "This tour of Alaska includes several stops along the famous Inside Passage, including Sitka – noted for its Russian architecture. At Juneau, we pay a visit to the Red Dog Saloon, where hordes of gold-seekers caroused during the great Gold Rush of 1898. A canoe race and hot-air balloon ride are featured in the city of Anchorage. We take a trip to "Alaskaland" in Fairbanks and take a ride on a vintage steam-engine train, followed by an outing on board a stern-wheel steamboat. Try your luck panning for gold in Nome, then view an Inupiat tribal ceremony and blanket toss in Kotzebue.
